Highs and lows

Yesterday was an incredibly difficult day.

It started off well. Z and I both had work holiday parties to attend. It was so fun and we both ate way too much. After everyone had eaten, my coworkers surprised me with an impromptu wedding shower! Of course, I cried. And tried to share with them how much I appreciated them bearing with me for the last month of wedding craziness. They are truly wonderful people and I am lucky to work with them.

Zach was able to run errands yesterday, too. He picked up my wedding ring from the jeweler. It is just perfect. And he also stopped by him mom’s house and picked up some pictures for our slideshow. They’re hilarious. You’ll love them.

Unfortunately, the day took an awful turn when Z and I got home. When I went upstairs to change, Rocksteady met me at the top of the stairs as usual. But his brother wasn’t there. And when I went into our bedroom, Bebop was just laying on the floor, not moving. Z and I rushed him to the emergency room, but they weren’t able to bring him back. I think he was still with us for his last few minutes and we told him how much we loved him. Z held him on his lap the entire way to the emergency room.

I’m so sad today. I miss my bubby very much. Bebop Boo Radley was a very good boy cat. Ugh.

I’m glad that Z and I have such a beautiful distraction to keep us busy. I can’t wait to be married to my best friend, who showed me real strength yesterday. I am a lucky, lucky girl.

Rest in peace, sweet bubby boy.
