A dress that zips up the back …

That’s it, that’s it. It’s all over. The search¬†is all over. The¬†perfect dress has been found. And we’ve got a report coming in now

It’s lovely. After trying on five dresses, my posse and I had lunch at the deli next door to mull over my options. I could buy the dress now, which was seemingly anti-climactic, or I could keep searching, to get the “full experience.” After a quick stop at a wedding dress consignment shop, we returned to the store where my dress had lived, and bought it (thank you, Dad and Linda!).

I’ve never really thought of myself as a girly girl, but I loved walking around the store in those dresses. The best part of the entire experience: seeing my parents’ faces as a modeled the gowns. Mom teared up immediately. Dad and Linda were stoic at first, but I definitely saw dad get teary-eyed. He elicited a big “awwww” from the entire store when, in response to me asking him what he thought of a dress, he said, “I’m not even looking at the dresses. I just see the beautiful girl wearing them.”

And then there was my future mom-in-law. Jennifer made the trek from Kingwood to be with me on this special shopping trip and it just made my day complete. I wish now that I had had a camera to capture her reactions to each of the dresses. She laughed, she cried, she reminded me how lucky I am to be joining the Lee clan.

Amy and Jsmo also get credit for this successful wedding couture adventure. We’d still be shopping if it weren’t for their reassurances that I wasn’t crazy for buying a dress on Day 1 of shopping. Plus, Jsmo’s being awesome (as per usual) and storing the dress at her house so that Zach doesn’t even get to see the bag. Now the world wants to know, Jsmo: How will you stop me from coming over all the time to play in my dress?

  1. I won’t!!! We’re going to play dress up for the next 9ish months. And after that, for the rest of our lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I actually thought that YOU lit up every dress you tried on. But when it came down to the decision I wanted it to be the dress that you felt the best in. I was very excited (although I didn’t really show it, because you dad did not want me to influence your decision) that you got the dress that you did. You were extremely stunning in it. lol

  3. Awww! Thanks, you guys!

I agree with Linda. Every dress looked amazing on you because you’re beautiful! However, the dress is definitely THE DRESS. Muy caliente, Kristen. I’m so glad I got to be there!
